Book Four · Upper Elementary · Ages 9–12
Mae and the Mountain of Many Stories
A late frost leaves the meadow hungry, and a raven brings word of acorns over the mountain. Mae, Poppy and Grandma Cassandra climb toward an overlook said to hold the answer, and every creature on the way carries a piece of it.
“I ask before I decide. Every story holds a piece.”

Inside the story
What readers practise with Mae.
Each book carries a quiet Montessori lesson. Readers meet it in the story first, then practise it in their own work.
I can tell the difference between a rumor and a report.
I can ask three checking questions: Who saw it? When? How do they know?
I can explain what is missing from a claim before I decide.
