Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Trainers Club

Trainers explore Paldea together each week, and the game becomes the field trip. Students practice type-matchup logic, careful reading, descriptive language and map skills, then team up in private group play. A Guide keeps every group kind, safe and welcoming.

What students learn

The game is the field trip. The skills come home.

Every part of the game asks students to read, reason and work together.

01

Logic with types

Type matchups are if-then thinking. Trainers predict, test and explain which moves work and why.

02

Reading and describing

We read in-game text and descriptions, then describe Pokémon clearly enough for others to guess.

03

Maps and teamwork

Trainers plan routes on the Paldea map, use a compass and team up in group raids.

04

Strategy and planning

Building a balanced team and planning for the next challenge.

05

Good sportsmanship

Trading fairly, battling kindly and celebrating each other’s catches.

A month in the club

A new skill for each meeting

Our first meeting opens with the Paldean Pokémon Spotlight game, and each week builds from there.

  1. Week 1

    Paldean Pokémon Spotlight

Each trainer secretly picks a Pokémon and gives three clues: type or habitat, appearance, then a fun fact. Others guess once after each clue.

  2. Week 2

    Type logic

A matchup chart, predictions and test battles with friends.

  3. Week 3

    Map and route

Plan a route across Paldea, set a goal and explore it together.

  4. Week 4

    Team raid

Plan roles, communicate clearly and complete a group raid.

Each trainer shares one thing they caught, learned or figured out.

Who it is for

A good fit if…

  • Students who love Pokémon
  • Learners who enjoy puzzles, collecting and planning
  • Students practicing describing, reading and explaining
  • Trainers ready to play kindly with others

Before class

What you need

  • A Nintendo Switch or Switch 2
  • Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet
  • A Nintendo Switch Online membership for group play, set up by a parent
  • A second device with a camera and microphone for our video call
  • Paper and pencil

The Montessori way

Students follow their interests while the Guide connects play to real skills: logic, language and geography. Trainers set their own goals and help each other reach them, and the group practices grace and courtesy in every trade and battle.

Questions families ask

Good to know

Do we need Scarlet or Violet specifically?

Either one works. Trainers on both versions can play together.

Is online play safe?

We play only in private sessions with our group. Parents set up the account, and the Guide shares link codes in class.

My child is just starting the game. Is that okay?

Yes. Trainers at every stage of the game take part, and experienced players help newer ones.
