Support for Home Guides

At Quantum Montessori, we call parents and guardians Home Guides because they play an active role in the learner’s education. You help create the conditions for learning at home. We support you in understanding the work, recognizing progress, and knowing when your child needs additional guidance.

You do not need to arrive with Montessori training. Our partnership helps you develop the routines and approaches your learner needs, with responsibilities and support that reflect your selected program.

Understanding your role

Home Guides provide a prepared workspace, help learners access materials, support participation, and reinforce expectations. Younger children need close adult involvement. Older learners gradually assume more responsibility while their Home Guide remains available to monitor progress and help them follow through.

In parent-directed programs, the Home Guide takes the lead in daily instruction and implementation. Programs that include LIVE Guidance add direct instruction from our guides. The amount of independent work a learner can manage depends on readiness, not simply age or enrollment in an online program.

Turning plans into manageable routines

Learning plans, directions, and program resources help families understand what to prepare and how to approach the work. We help Home Guides think through realistic routines, organize materials, and balance academic learning with movement, practical responsibilities, and time away from screens.

Knowing when to help

A useful first step is to observe. Can your child explain the directions? Do they understand the concept? Are they unsure how to begin, or do they need help sustaining attention? These are different challenges and may require different responses.

Our guidance helps families offer an appropriate next step without completing the work for the learner. This may involve demonstrating a process, breaking a task into smaller steps, allowing thinking time, or returning to a foundational skill. Clear expectations and a calm, responsive approach work together.

Understanding progress and sharing concerns

Conversations about learning draw on observations, work samples, practice, and checks for understanding. We help families look beyond whether an assignment is finished to consider what the learner understands, what they can do independently, and what needs further instruction.

Home Guides contribute essential information about learning outside guided sessions. If work consistently leads to confusion, avoidance, or frustration, share what you notice so we can consider the next instructional step together. We welcome neurodivergent and neurotypical learners while recognizing that each child’s needs and program fit require individual consideration.

A shared commitment

Our guides bring instructional direction and feedback. Home Guides provide consistent support and communication. Learners practice, participate, and take increasing responsibility. Together, we build a learning experience with warmth, clear boundaries, and meaningful academic expectations.
