Kindergarten–5th grade · School from home

A week in K–5 Distance Learning

Live lessons, small-group Ignite Learning, Learning Studio, Curiosity Quest and clubs, balanced with independent work, so your child learns with a Guide and grows in independence.

The parts of the week

Quantum Montessori Guide (QMG)

Quantum Montessori Guides lead the full School-From-Home experience using a Montessori-inspired approach that nurtures independent learning, whole-child development, and strong family partnerships. As the primary contact for families, QMGs provide personalized academic guidance and encouragement, monitor student progress, and ensure each learner’s experience is cohesive, engaging, and tailored to their unique needs.

Independent Learning Time

These are self-directed times for students to work through their weekly work plan, use adaptive learning tools (such as DreamBox or Reading Plus), collaborate with peers, and attend small-group lessons with their guide. This structure supports independence and mastery of foundational concepts.

Live Guidance Lessons

(Attendance Required) Offers valuable face-to-face learning with your teacher, where you can participate in activities like research discussions, math support, or science demonstrations. Regular breaks will be provided for movement and refocusing, tailored to your age group. Stay informed through announcements and be ready to learn. In K-2, mini-lessons will also be incorporated to break up the session.

Ignite Learning

(Attendance Required) Provides personalized learning for our K-5 students. During this period, students will be grouped based on their academic abilities. They will engage in activities tailored to their needs, either receiving additional support to catch up or being challenged with an advanced curriculum alongside like-minded peers.

Learning Studio

(Attendance Required) This dedicated time will provide opportunities for independent work, targeted instructional support, and connection with a teacher or staff member and all other learners. This time may be used for gifted/special education/ESL services.

Curiosity Quest

Held on Tuesdays, this hour is dedicated to exploring each student’s individual interests. Students rotate every 9 weeks through engaging classes such as STEM, Art, Chess, or Cooking! They can choose their top 4 favorites and will have the opportunity to experience each one throughout the year. Advanced Curiosity Quest offerings may occasionally be held on Mondays.

Funtastic Friday

Held Fridays from 10:30–11:30 with QMs and teachers, this time focuses on community building, peer engagement, and fun! Students connect, collaborate, and celebrate the week together in a joyful, inclusive environment.

Learning Enrichments & Clubs

Led by Quantum Montessori Guides, STEAM educators, and guest experts—including paleontologists, NASA astronauts, and artists—these engaging classes bring hands-on STEM, arts, languages, chess, and passion-driven projects to life. Students build critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional skills while exploring their interests, connecting with mentors, and learning in a collaborative, Montessori-inspired environment.

A school-managed Chromebook is included

Every Montessori School From Home student receives a Chromebook managed by Quantum Montessori, set up for Canvas and live classes.
